Skladfin September 27th, 2008 22:21

how lazy are you exactly? there are like, so many reviews

matt491 September 27th, 2008 22:22

..or you could not be lazy and do your own research. We don't spoon feed around here.

How old are you? I'm betting not old enough to play this sport.

Steggs September 27th, 2008 22:28

Just a question but where are you thinking about purchasing the gun from? I personally own a CA M15A4 carbine and love it to death. I can't seem to think of any negatives at the moment.

the Following is Duilin's 10 easy steps guide to airsoft research:

Step 1: postion self in chair so is comforable.

Step 2: open internet browser.

Step 3: type www.google.ca in internet brower search bar.

Step 4: Wait for said page to load. depending on internet connection, this can and will take sometime.

Step 5: type gun make and model followed by the word 'Review' into the google search bar.

Step 6: Click 'Search'

Step 7: Wait for new page to come up with thousands of sites with reviews, this can and will take some time depending on internet connection

Step 8: read reviews on guns and compare.

Step 9: get lazy ass age verified.

Step 10: purchase gun of choice from either ASC Classifeids or from a Canadian Retailer.

hope this helps.

The Tactical Carbine version is the one I have and I think it's the best of all possible combos. You have the shortened M4 carbine barrel, which makes you less likely to smack your barrel off something when turning quickly, combined with the full stock which houses a large battery. Small batteries don't have near the run time of a large battery, not to mention that the reinforced slip ring (the ring that keeps the fore-grip on) is really stong. While this is mostly a good thing and a big step up over CA's previous M15 versions, it makes changing small batteries in the field very difficult if not impossible.

CA's M15A4 series in general is a big step up over their previous versions and as far as stock armalites go they're probably the best. All metal where the real steel version is, the plastic parts where the real steal version is plastic are made of good quality plastic. CA has a deal with Armalite so you get all the proper markings. Plus that deal also goes to show the quality of the manufacture, Armalite wouldn't put their name on a shoddy product.

Internally the gearbox is reinforced metal and all the gears are metal as well. It fires hotter out of the box then TM's as well, firing at 300-320 fps where your average TM only fires 280-300 fps.

All in all this is a great starter gun if you can afford it. Because it's all metal you don't have to worry nearly as much about breaking it and you won't get any of the wobble that is infamous in stock TM M4/M16's. Unfortunately affording it is the biggest problem, they're not cheap.

Not to excuse the poster's... Less than stellar question, but he says he's from the UK so age verification isn't an issue here.

TL;DR the Armalite platform is as good as an M4 will get, I own a varient and I recommend it.

surebet, his location says that:

mikogel September 28th, 2008 10:24

surebet September 28th, 2008 14:45

Oh, well then if you're local... where do you intend to purchase the gun?

mikogel September 28th, 2008 20:02

i'm going to see if mopic airsoft can order me one as there a very reliable supplier around here

Disco_Dante September 28th, 2008 20:08

I lol'd.

mikogel September 29th, 2008 06:33

i'll send them a copy of my drivers liscense or something and usually reviews are a page long and a third is just stuff you don't need to know

Muffin September 29th, 2008 06:53

You don't get it do you, Mopic will not sell to you unless you are an age verified ASC member, or atleast 18 with documentation to prove it.
You've yet to disclose your actual age but I'll bet your 16, in that case, sit tight until you are 18.

mikogel September 30th, 2008 18:34

i will discuss this with mopic airsoft thaks for the help

Muffin September 30th, 2008 19:03

Mopic honors the 18+ rule, why don't you just be paitient and wait until you are the appropriate age?

what have they taught you at school? not a single period...

mopic October 2nd, 2008 18:44

With all respect, If this gentleman has a drivers licence that shows he's over 18, that is fine. As a private investgator for more than 10 years, I can easilly find out if it is real. I have maintained my over 18 sales policy, and will continue to do so. Too much is riding on keeping our hobby legal to sell a few guns to underagers. I do think we should take it easy on younger players, I have heard that attitudes on here have turned away many good players. We were all newbies at one point.

pusangani October 2nd, 2008 18:59

Ain't nothing wrong with new players or younger player's for that matter, there's tons of good ones on ASC, its the ignorant, "too lazy to do own research", "the rules don't apply to me" noobs that get shitted on, as well as they should, if these are the "good" players that are being turned away then I'm sorry but I hardly feel guilty for that

Disco_Dante October 2nd, 2008 19:25

Hot damn, Mopic was a dick for hire. That's pretty cool.

mopic October 4th, 2008 10:14

I still maintain a licence, I did mostly insurance and corporate work no family law stuff.

It was fun, but the pay was not great. Today, if you are lucky you will top out at $24.00 an hour, exactly what I was making in the late 90's

matt491 October 4th, 2008 12:24

Ronan might want to hire you. I hear the last little boy he was touching got away when he yelled, "LOOK A YOUNGER BOY!", pointed behind Ronan, and he looked.
I hear he's still looking for both boys....

On another note, <3's to Ronan. =P
