Someone to Order Military Gear?

I was wondering if anyone in the armforces/law enforcement
will be able to order me a pair of Oakley's ballistic goggle or Ballistic Glasses?

super_six_four July 10th, 2008 15:46

why cant you order them yourself?

surebet July 10th, 2008 15:49

Probably ITAR restricted or something...

Or perhaps better price?

Silent_Angel July 10th, 2008 15:49

I believe they require you to have a ID to proof your in active service I believe

Which I'm not.

ShelledPants July 10th, 2008 15:50

As per the example on this page:

http://www.tacticaltailor.com/index....ROD&ProdID=324

Oakley can only be shipped to LE or Mil Personnel.

But according to this site:

http://www.galls.com/style.html?asso...og&style=EW163

Anyone should be able to order. No?

Thanks for the link, thats kinda strange... how commercial sites can sell them to non Mil/Le personnel. hope they don't ask me from proof when I check out :)

super_six_four July 10th, 2008 16:03

hey i just called Oakley and you do not have to be LE or Military to purchase them, when you mentioned it i was kinda worried cause im thinking of getting a new pair.

Silent_Angel July 10th, 2008 16:12

Humm... I was looking here
https://www.oakleyforces.ca/ and they won't let me go anywhere near an Add to Cart button Looks like the site states that I have to register to order.

And Also is ANSI Z87.1 what we are looking for interms of impact resistance?

FOX_111 July 10th, 2008 16:31

I don't know why they require the buyer to be active duty. That's bullshit since it's not a export restricted item, like NVGs or some IR devices.

Place your order and they most probably complete it without any questions. If they don't, spend your money somewhere else!

I'd be more comprehensible if it was a balistic jacket, or SAPI/NIJ plates.

super_six_four July 10th, 2008 16:33

yeah i called them are anyone can buy them

Silent_Angel July 10th, 2008 16:42

Looks like I have to physically call up to filll an order since no add to cart lol, and thats why the had me going too, its nothing restricted, ESS, BlackHawk etc all sells stuff like these to LE/Mil but without requiring to be in Active service.

Thanks for Confirming it over the phone Super Six Four

Also my question couple posts above
is ANSI Z87.1 what we are looking for interms of impact resistance?

whiskey_four July 10th, 2008 16:47

The issue is that it's (very) discounted pricing for MIL and LE only. The items themselves are not restricted, but purchasing them at that pricing level, is.

Yes. That and if anyone in the military bought them for you like that, it would be very illegal.
I would recommend deleting this thread due to illegal activity

Mil/LE discount: "Ach yah". Civvy: "Nich nich". Export restrictions have nothing to do with it. Why are you getting so worked up about this. You qualify for the program don't you?

Silent Angel: To ask someone who qualifies for the program to buy items for you would be a clear violation of the rules Oakley established and an abuse of the program.

After Reading into the program tab in the site, I realize that is indeed true, but I don't think the goggle on their commercial site have been ballistic rated

so I'll ask again lol is ANSI Z87.1 / ASTM F659 what we are looking for for impact rating? Because thats what the goggle on the commercial site are listed

Thanks

P.S. I aplogize I asked for another person to purchase this for me, I did not read that area and realized after this its very illegal to sell it afterwards.

Delete if needed.

Yeah like those, looks like the rating is the same for all the stuff they sell at the retail website, looks like I actually just wear the Sunglass I've already bought to games (Of course with proper approval from gamehost/field owner)

Is he still selling? I can't seem to find it in the Commercial site all I see is Ski/Dirtbike goggles which is very colorful lol

hoot. July 10th, 2008 17:21

not sure just PM ILLusion

bruce July 10th, 2008 18:37

http://www.trgear.com/osc/eshop/prod...products_id/38

I've ordered from there before. Didn't order the goggles but the boots and had no problem with them.

whiskey_four October 16th, 2008 16:57

Sorry to drag this up. Anyone ordered using this program and can comment as to the pricing? A PM response is probably better. I'd be looking at the SI M-Frame 3-Lens Array that includes a VR28, which is a great tint if you haven't tried it. I contacted Oakley Canada but have yet to hear back. I'm sure the discount is good, but eBay may be just as good with less hassle.

I got my SI Half Jackets from TRGear too. Easy to deal with, and reasonable shipping prices.

I would stay away from Oakleys and Ebay unless you can GUARANTEE the authenticity (even at that, I'm not sure how you can).
