How would I go about painting my Crosman R70?

Not sure if this is the right thread, but here I go anyways...

I've seen a few youtube videoes on how to paint an airsoft rifle,
But I'm just wondering what parts do I need to cover up. ( besides the orange tip, of course  ) or what parts should I take off and paint separately?

Thanks :D

Duilin May 18th, 2008 13:34

why would you need to cover the orange tip...

Thanks, but what I'm asking is:

what parts of my Crosman R70 do I need to cover up, so it won't mess up the gun when I paint it kthnxbai.

mcguyver May 18th, 2008 14:31

Orange tip is not law here.

Spray the whole gun if you like, but you will be taking a non-replica and making it a replica. That is currently the interpretation and enforcement of the law.

Muffin May 18th, 2008 14:32

Depending on what you can remove without damaging anything, just paint the parts you desire to paint. If you dont have any knowledge on how to dismantle and reassemble it, then just mask the parts you wish no to paint.
Krylon would be what you want to use for painting it.

Shrapnel[Op-For] May 18th, 2008 15:06

wow, enough with the big bold letters.

Tape off the:
-barrel end (NO not the orange tip, its not law, just the end were bb's come out)
-take out the mag, tape the the whole area inside where the mag would be.

And then paint it. But really, its a pulse r70, so it really doesn't matter.

DC_ACU May 18th, 2008 16:34

heres a good way...
1 go to petro canada, shell, sunoco or some type of petrolium fuel station, and ask for a special type of paint otherwise known as gasoline... then you need to get a lighter, trust me on this one, the flame will make the paint dry quicker.
1. thoroughly soak the 'airsoft gun' in the gasoline.
2. ignite flame from safe distance.
3. allow flame to touch 'airsoft gun' for 3 seconds.
4. enjoy your charred black paintjob.
:D:D

"clearsoft" or "softair guns" are not very common around here (theres a few exceptions these days like some of the C02 pistols and the kraken) so i doubt many people are gonna be able to help you know what to protect ya never know though

anywho im done

Yes actually, it is.

AngelusNex May 18th, 2008 22:37

step one: spray paint on gun (light coat)
step two: let dry
step three: repeat steps one through two until you think it's enough, run out of paint and/or pass out from the fumes.
THATS IT

Remove cap, shake for one minute, hold about 12" from object to be painted, press button and pass spray over in a line by line fashion (like a typewriter). Let dry, add another layer.

:D
