Snake skin M4

Here's a pic of my recently re-painted M4. I sprayed broad stipes of tan over the original pattern through a plastic mesh. I then sprayed some narrower and more selective stripes of brown over the newly painted tan.

That is a sick job man nice! I like how it will blend in really good with those
colors and the pattern helps alot too

bruce January 7th, 2007 18:57

Looks wicked! Is that how it is like around Ottawa right now?

ex January 7th, 2007 19:06

Thanks Guys.. Primus turned me onto the technique. Ya that pic was taken this afternoon at the LZ. It was sunny and warm and the field was not too wet either.

KraziAzn January 7th, 2007 20:10

wheres the gun? i dont see it xD

l0l jk

nice job

CDN_Stalker January 7th, 2007 20:24

Looks like what I partially did to my MP5 a year ago (after you gave it the initial spray job) using mesh to add some texture. Pretty cool still, always good to see a bit more break up detail than just splotches.

trufret January 7th, 2007 20:56

gotta love warm and sunny. thanks to global warming us Ontario residents don't have to move to B.C anymore.

HellRanger January 7th, 2007 21:41

Just finished painted 2 helmets in that pattern and doing 2 SPRs in the next few weeks.

Got to admit, nice work.

Mongoose January 7th, 2007 23:09

Great paint job! Looks awesome! Never would have thought to use plastic mesh to get that type of look. Love the texture, makes it more concealable amongst the foilage.

Vivisector January 7th, 2007 23:16

Damn... looks nice. This is coming from someone that hates painted guns, and Armalites :P

Jixton January 7th, 2007 23:25

It look really nice. great work!

I hate painted guns but hats off from me. That's one schweet job.

Lerch January 8th, 2007 01:39

I love seeing people coming out with new and unique paint jobs.
This one just does such a great effect at breaking up the features of the gun..kudos!:D

CDN_Stalker January 8th, 2007 08:56

I gave the front end of my MP5 a quick overspray last year just after it was painted, I slid one of those green mesh bottle protectors the liquor store hands out over the supressor/front grip. Worked ok, but found the mesh was a little big.

Sgt_Lynch January 8th, 2007 14:09

Painted a guitar like that a few years back. Never thought of doing a gun... great work! Figures Primus had something to do with it ;)

You can use fishnet stockings as well.

Xenos-Fear January 17th, 2007 23:50

Does it strike with a spiky tongue or it shoots bb ? ;) Nice man ! Paintjob is amazing !

HellRanger January 18th, 2007 09:40

Hey Bryan,

Here is a picture of the 2 helmets I painted just before you posted your M4 pic.

Note: Notice that I'm putting the subload to a good use and my wife is wearing the suspenders you sold me.

I can see it now.

ex-royal is prone watching the objective for the enemy to try and grab the flag, hes using a ghille suit for a change and has his trusty m4. He knows he ain't a sniper, but he loves his ghille suit.

The enemy comes from behind him, without seeing him, he just nearly steps on him, he looks down and sees the gun. He doesn't notice the gun, but only the snake skin paint! He yells, "Oh crap a snake!" he runs for his life like a little baby and even leaves the game he so scared.

ex-royal gets up and says, "Dam, I didn't know it was that good!"

(NOTE: ex-royal may not indeed love his ghille suit, but it was just added as a nice dynamic to my story. :))

uhh :p ... okay?

Yeah... I'd be a lil' bit more scared of that going off in my face at close range.

Lol, your wife's stuff is bigger than yours is! I guess size does matter, eh?

Interesting pic though, lots of neat stuff to look at.
