Ok, I know what you are looking for now. The good ol' Canadian Taped Button.

|
I used to know where to get them, but can't seem to find the info right now.
Best bet would be to e-mail either TigerTactial (info@tigertactical.com) or Seals Action Gear (info@sealsactiongear.com) as they do their own manufacturing and will porbally either be able to tell you their source or sell you some buttons if you only need a few. |
GREAT......

Army Issue has them in his store. Both the large and small size, I don't know if he has both colors though... his site is here: http://www.armyissue.com/
If they aren't listed there I'm sure you could just email him and ask |

Eww...anyways, I know that Dave's has a big box of tape buttons (all sizes) near the entrance. I've never asked the price though...as for tan buttons... :banghead:

There area actually stories about Canadian buttons being edible that date back to the Korean war. Aparently some of the troops back then tried it. End result, all they ended up with was a melted plastic button in a cup of water and some guy guy that left his jacket unattended missing his buttons.

One thing that I don't like about the Canadian buttons is that they've got a polished finish. Look at the pics that mctaz took and you'll see that the British ones don't shine while the Canadian ones do.
|
tiny bit of sandpaper can fix that problem though.
|
If you have a friend in the army they should have been issued a sewing kit with extra buttons, maybe you could talk them in to giving you some.

2. I sent him some already |
If we lose a button on our combats, we either get them exchanged or soldier it out. If your missing alot of buttons, then your fairly screwed if you got stuff in your pockets and your doing bounds.
|
they used to tell that story to all the new people in my reg, i guess just to see if somone was dumb enough to try it
