G&g pdw 99 (p90)

Wow. Metal upper. 2 side rails on the RDS. Integrated "Laserex" type laser. If the build quality and internals are on par with TM or the CA Proline I think I may have to buy this when it comes available to Canada.

I was just reading elsewhere it's only for sale in taiwan due to licensing issues... who knows if it's true. I just want gearbox shells that arne't TM or ks/e1.

HeadlessChicken October 30th, 2012 17:02

More then likely with Cybergun's hold on FNH trades license which all but killed WE's gas P90.

However G&G does have FNH licensed guns...the F2000 and the SCAR I believe. However King Arms already has the FNH licensing on their P90, so I'm not sure how that works with another gun, if they can even have 2 different brands with the same FNH trades. It would be like having a Ford Focus made by 2 different companies. There's going to be differences in quality and attributes. I'm not sure FNH (Ford) would want that.

sabinn October 31st, 2012 11:38

Tier One can order them (not currently itemized on website)

www.tieronetactical.com
$369.99

Anyone interested in combining buying power?

Evil_yd November 1st, 2012 09:36

that laser on the front does look interesting and so does the adjustable fps, although i'm not certain if that option is better than the King arms quick change system, i'm no expert but if you constantly compress the spring wouldn't it lose some of it's strength over time ?

The spring won't really loose much strength over time. In any gearbox it sits compressed a bit even when piston touching cylinder head. And it looks like if you unscrew it completely you can pull the spring guide out and change the spring.

They do hold the license for FN P90s from what I know. Which was made in the form of the King Arms P90s. I doubt we will see this unless people import them from Taiwan. Which can be done, with enough money of course

In my post above I let you know that Tier One Tactical can order them. When I asked how he is able to order these he candidly stated that he see's that model on his price list from G&G therefore he can order them. So I imagine that any dealer with a G&G relationship should be able to get it.

I suspect that if you're interested in this gun for it's bells'n'whistles then pounce on it before Cybergun/Spartan cock-blocks it.

Disco_Dante November 2nd, 2012 11:53

Considering G&G has had a P90 and a PS90 out for quite a while now, why is it that this one would be jumped on by cybergun but the previous incarnations would not?

Do you mean TM?

No I was definitely talking about G&G, but I'm doing some poking around now and it doesn't seem to be very prominent. There are reviews and you can find the exploded parts diagram on G&G's website... but you guys might be right about cybergun stopping it's spread.

Brook240sx November 5th, 2012 19:59

I have a G&G PDW99 in tan. here are my thoughts on it.

Great build quality overall. I would say this is the best built P90 out there. The down side to this is it makes it very heavy. the gearbox is all CNC machined and has excellent internal parts (pro line). Problems with the gun. the Hop up is not all that great like most p90 platforms. the integrated optic is a waist of money. looks very cool but cannot really be zeroed in and the red dot is much to faint. This is an over all great gun for a P90. worth the money? Probably not until it hits the north American market.

cybergun holds a patent on the shape of the p90 frame. It is in litigation as we speak.

How about the integrated laser? Do you need to zero it often or does it hold zero between games?
Also, the 2 buttons for laser activation... I assume that is full and half power laser intensity. Since this is an airsoft gun I was wondering how intense it is. Daylight viewable? From how far? Does the laser ever look like an enormous blob at range?

A real Laserex unit for the P90 is 8mW.
Civilian Laserex units are <3mW.
I'm hoping the G&G version is around 3mW as well.

it holds zero fine
1 button for laser activation on middle finger under trigger 1 setting
it is ok as far as view ability.

when i say the optic is crap. I mean it is made by another company for G&G and it is not built to the same standard. the green dot cannot be adjusted within the reticle but rather the whole optic moves on the rail. so my problem is my green dot is sitting up and right a bit and i cannot center it in the optic. So i can center the green dot on target but its awkward to use

Can you remove the optic entirely? This is what I did for the RDS upper @ http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=145804

pics please. If you don't want to open up the gearbox, then some really nice shots of the gearbox outside of the gun would suffice.

Brook240sx November 5th, 2012 22:33

Here you all are. Sorry not a CNC box but very nice non the less. has a ported brass cylinder

lol did you already put a lonex motor on it?

very interesting... a couple screw holes have been moved around from the standard v6, and the spring chamber has been extended and reinforced to accommodate the quick spring change/adjustment.

The trigger block is also smaller and the full auto contacts are moved up from the regular v6 spot.

Also the motor cage looks a bit different... they might have changed the shape of the gearbox and motorcage on the bottom... maybe to make room for the laser switches.

I wonder what the 2 KA gearboxes look like.. one is also supposed to have quick change spring, the other is a more standard v6 with 8mm bushings/bearings.

Pre-radius'ed cylinder corners too! Is this standard on V6 boxes?

Any feeding issues?

lurkingknight November 5th, 2012 22:52

on my CA p90 gearbox, they made an attempt at radiusing the corners, but they failed miserably and there was a crack that had already formed when I got it.... it's a ticking timebomb I think... and CA won't get back to me on whether or not I can buy new gearbox shells. :/

It's definitely not CNCed... looks like standard potmetal casting but coated with something like the CA one.

.

nope its a Stock g&g one from an m4. just a bit better then the stock one. i have a guarder on the way

lurkingknight November 5th, 2012 23:25

I found the guarder infinite torque to be super loud/screechy, even when properly height adjusted (but I got is used, no telling what kind of life it went through)... I'm a converted lonex whore now though... but I suspect I'd like any neo motor. The guarder IT is pretty good though... was getting pretty good rps on my 11v lipo with stock gears.

Brook240sx November 6th, 2012 00:38

i have one guarder high torq already great motor. I also have a system a-z great looking motor but it killed all my switches/mosfets. to good of a motor. fast as hell though.

some feeding problems yes both mid cap and king arm high cap. think its the hop up though. will be solving that problem with a new hop up i hope.

kylem_8 November 6th, 2012 16:26

is the upper receiver metal? if so, what is its quality compared to.. idk.. a CA or KA?

I would Like to get one of these (the TR version though)

Brook240sx November 6th, 2012 16:45

as good as any of the others i would say. its the plastic thats better on this one. the metal upper is nothing special.

Styrak November 6th, 2012 17:03

If a bunch of people are interested, I'd be happy to do a group order of these.

I will join if the price is right.

Would there be a problems with TM low cap P90 mag? Anyone can shine the light for me.

lurkingknight November 6th, 2012 17:36

the tm lowcaps and the AABB lowcaps seem to be the best feeding out of any p90 mag in any p90. I have had reallly good results with KA 100 round mags. But I am using a predominately TM gun with a CA gearbox.

iKliiu November 6th, 2012 18:12

I'm surprised that they radiused the back corners, you only really need the front. Otherwise, the gearbox looks pretty good, probably on par with the CA.

2 questions:
  1. if 5 people place an order for a group buy, what would the price be per person?
  2. how much to ship it to Toronto?

Biowipe November 6th, 2012 19:05

Im down for a group buy as well

Brook240sx November 6th, 2012 19:30

ill be surprised if you can actually buy this gun. I went to alot of work and money to get this. Lots of people said they could get it nobody came through.

so close yet so far away... :( still estimateing around christmas for a shipping time?

On December 16th the guns were "on the water". I don't know much about logistics but I would assume that it doesn't longer than 2 weeks to ship port-to-port. Following that logic the boat would arrive in Vancouver no later than Jan 1? Bah, I'm no expert. Carry on.
