Show your Eye-Pro

I am always interested to see what eye protection people use and recommend.

Here is my current collection:

http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p...n2012small.jpg

from left to right:

- JT Spectra Flex 8 Thermal Mask - Woodland
- Smith Optics Elite Outside the Wire Goggle - TAN
- Bolle T-800 Goggles
- Revision Exoshield Goggles
- Oakley M Frame Glasses w/ Sweep Lens
- ESS CDI Glasses

Boyso April 4th, 2012 15:18

What's your opinion on the CDI? Received a pair of CDI Max today but haven't had the chance to game them yet. Any fog?

Other than that, I use ESS Ice for outdoors, and ESS Landops for indoors.

m102404 April 4th, 2012 15:21

No pics really...they're all available on-line

JT Spectra Flex 7 (I think...I can't tell the diff between the 7's and 8's)...thermal lense
- PB approved
- gross from sweat funk
- wired with extra fans

Bolle T800's
- great with fogtec
- not so keen on the lense retention/gap

Oakley Half Jackets
- comfy

Misc Shooting glasses by remington and browning

On the way for eval
Bolle Axis glasses - fit well on asian face and temples ratchet for different lense angles
Smith Boogie Goggles - hoping the vents provide more air circulation than the exoshields

bean April 4th, 2012 15:22

I get a bit of fog with my cdi maxes. If you apply fog tech it helps a ton.

MilanWG April 4th, 2012 15:24

The ESS CDI Glasses are my favorite.

They are comfortable during long periods of use (talking 24hr +) and fog the least of all the eye-pro pictured above.

The CDI Max are larger, so they may be prone to fogging slightly more than the normal CDI's - but I would highly recommend them.

They are also my favorite because they intergrate with night-vision extremely well - allowing me to put my PVS14 as close to my eye as possible while still being protected.

MilanWG April 4th, 2012 15:27

I also have a pair of Smith Boogie Goggles on the way - they look really interesting with the ability to "vent" and let air circulate into the eye-pro (hopefully solving the Revision Exoshield condensation issues).

Smith Optics Goggles for Airsoft Eye Protection at Shot Show 2012 - YouTube

edit: I have to say, I am quite disappointed with my Smith Optics OTW Goggles and how they integrate with my NODs.
My PVS14 monocle is forced to sit so far out that I can barley see a circle in my night vision eye :(

Crunchmeister April 4th, 2012 15:28

For when full-seal goggles are required: ESS Land Ops. I've added fans to the goggles to help with fogging.

scottyfox April 4th, 2012 15:58

No pictures since they are all bone stock (not even sure how I would modify them).

ESS Crossbow (Clear and dark lenses)
-Nothing bad to say about them, my go-to glasses for night games and 24 hour games.

Revision Desert Locust (Clear and dark lenses)
-Usually just sit atop my helmet, I hate goggles.

Revision Hellfly
-My "look cool" sunglasses for airsoft, for CAG/Human Terrain/Random Int stuff. Only on sunny days though and never at night.

JT Spectras, not really sure why I have these, I never play at Painball goggle only fields, even with the mask off they have a big footprint, hate em.

And like apparently everyone else, Smith Boogie lowpros on the way (Will be my go-to full seal). I just like the look and am deathly afraid of condensation with the Exoshields.

Sounds good, thanks a lot!

Running dye I4's, they are paintball goggles but they sit tight to the face and aren't as bulky as most of the other paintball masks. Full face protection that will take bb hits no problem, and I have absolutely no issue aiming with my 97b or m14.

I am really interested in getting some shooting glasses style eye pro with the glasses insert, but am worried that they will fog heavily or won't be secure enough for me.

Dingo April 4th, 2012 21:24

I just ordered the "Ignitor" frames from one shot tactical. Looking forward to getting them. Hopefully they solved the condensation problems or the Revision EXOshields. I love those goggles, except for the condensation.

I've been absolutely loving the ESS V12 Advancers in the colder weather. Been wearing them to every game since fall, basically since the temperatures dropped.

I noticed a HUGE difference in fogging/condensation performance when I switched to applying Fogtech with a very high quality microfiber cloth that came with my wife's fancy-pants high-fashion glasses.

Back in july/august, they would always condense up to the point where I had to switch to my JT Thermals (these should be in everyone's standby eye-pro collection). But they're excellent in anything ~15-18C and below.

edit: for the mask you see here I use a standard metal mesh face mask that I've painted "multicam"

I'm currently using Empire Avatars with thermal lenses, but I'm looking at a pair of Oakley Radars (Range lenses). Has anybody used them, and does anybody know if the Oakley RX carrier will work with them?

durak April 5th, 2012 15:14

ESS profile turbofans, own a set of thermal lenses for them as well, great in all conditions, and have never had any issues with fog.

does the face shield protrude over the goggles? i was thinking of a set up like this but unsure if it would fit together....some of the pictures i see have the nose part sticking rather high

lurkingknight April 25th, 2012 10:02

A little late, but I was oakley shopping last night and also took some interest in the radars and also need a prescription.

From what I can find out, there is no insert for the radars, the Rx lenses are glued right onto the primary lens shield. Though I think you should talk to oakley themselves or a dealer if you're interested and ask how that shit works... I think I'll be sticking with contacts and maybe a standard pair of radars or ESS ICE.

Hey guys, I've been shopping for eyepro lately, and fullseal is pretty much recommended from here to Toronto, I currently have Revision's Sawfly for non-fullseal but you see I'm asking for opinions from our femme-softers because everything about me is as tiny as possible, and the Revision Desert Locusts EAT MY FACE. From the bottom of my nose to my hairline, I was wondering if there's anything that's smaller height wise, or split-lens goggles which would fit better? Any suggestions.

All help appreciated.

EDIT: I also work at Lenscrafters, any RXs in ANYTHING with Oakley's name on it, needs to be done by Oakley, it's proprietary.

Curo May 4th, 2012 02:53

@Darkdream- Try ESS

I run

Revision Desert Locust
ESS NVG
Ballistic Oakley M frames

I'm looking at some super low pro full seal.

drk242 May 4th, 2012 07:51

running the smith optics boogie fanrickentastic.
http://www.smithoptics.ca/uploads/pr...20_listing.jpg
the 45 price is unheard of for balistic sealed goggles.
fit great and no cheek weld issues

lurkingknight May 4th, 2012 10:23

holy crap tiny... do you squeak if we squeeze you?

How about revision bullet ant? ESS advancer v12 was the ess equivalent but they were discontinued by the looks of it. If you need Rx they also have an Rx insert I believe.

I'm not really entirely sure what the difference is for the Go Specs II & Go Specs III though? :S

Cheers!

Just ordered these should be low-pro enough for anyone will post back once they arrive.

Which ESS are you referring to, and do we know how they compare height wise? They all seem just as large.

I'm really disappointed, the Smith Optic Boogie's look amazing, but down in the south of Ontario here, not many fields consider them "full seal" because of the holes in the front, and as soon as they have holes, it doesn't fit under their insurance policies. I also apparently cannot have anything that has two seperate lenses in order to comply with these policies as well, so it needs to be paintball mask styled, and can't fit like the bullet ant.

I may or may not squeak :3, also as mentioned slightly above this, it needs to be a single lens styled goggle, it just needs to be petite.

Thanks for all the advice, keep em coming! :D I feel like we're getting closer.

lurkingknight May 9th, 2012 10:04

revision exoshield is smaller, but the foam pad was coming off one of the pairs I saw at a game on sunday, they were brand new. But they might be your only option. I hear revision has awesome support though, so that guy will probably be taken care of.

Ghostnote May 12th, 2012 01:31

Revision Bullet ants with the mesh mask zip tied to it for less straps around the head. Its good for smaller faces and flatter faces.

KiLo64 May 12th, 2012 03:50

No pic but:

ESS ICE (first pair that ever came out)
ESS NVG
Blackhawk Specops goggles
Wiley X SG-1
Oakley Gascan
Bolle T800
JT Proflex
JT Proteus II
VForce Grill
Empire Events

Coming soon: Smith Optics Boogie Regulator

This setup works together great. The soft outline on the mesh mask lets you either mount it on top of the goggles on their edges (which I often do) or underneath (which I only sometimes do)... Either works good.

Off_kilter May 12th, 2012 21:06

has anyone tried revision desert locust with a mesh mask yet?
