Lag time of age verification at Imperial Airsoft

So I signed up for age verification at Imperial Airsoft in mid September, and am just wondering on the best ways to check on if maybe my sign up got lost or the like.

I've called a few times and have left messages but haven't heard anything back. I recognize they are a bussiness and AV isnt their priority, and I totally understand real life as far as the AV process goes, its the primary reason (shift work, location) I havent been able to physically return to the store and see whats up.

So that said or whined whats my best way forward?

DarkAngel December 6th, 2011 00:59

Go to another AVer.

If you havent heard since september and they arnt returning your calls, you should contact another AVer.

erroneousTrigger December 7th, 2011 22:59

Thanks for the reply. Had came to.the same conclusion myself, though I had hoped it wouldnt come to that as I hadnt had luck getting hold of AVers 1:1 prior to going to the store. THat said I gave it one last shot and was able to get hold of the shop. Re sent my info so hopefully its a go this time.

Who did ya talk to? If you cant get ahold of them, feel free to contact me Ill help you out with what I can :D

R.I.T.Z December 8th, 2011 03:36

yeah I'd say contact another verifier.
It shouldn't take over 2 months to get your status put through, the mods have been keeping up with the flow of verifications and it seems its going 2 weeks max wait time.

The verifier either has lost your info, forgotten to submit it, or you are on a do not verify list.

erroneousTrigger December 8th, 2011 12:04

Thanks for all the info and the offers of help guys. Its looking like things will be sorted shortly.

Out of curiosity how would one get on the do not verify list if not yet involved in airsoft?

people end up on it for being idiots on the forum. or in person.
i'd go with one of the first reasons in your case however

What do you mean you "signed up" for AVing? Did you actually meet the verifier?

Outcast569 December 8th, 2011 18:12

Not sure who in IA even does AV. Atleast for ASC. Give them a call. They are usually pretty good.

TheOddBurger December 9th, 2011 14:51

Related... somewhat

I am also waiting for my AV to kick in. I visited an AV'er on 11/15/2011 and submitted my info in person. After about 2 weeks, i followed up with the AV'er who verified that the info was submitted. I'm still waiting for the update but am wondering if maybe my info was missed at some point... Is there anyone that I can contact at ASC regarding this?

Thanks :)

You are AV'd.

Drake December 9th, 2011 14:56

And the FAIL Of The Day Award goes to OddBurger: your AV is already active, but you get a B for effort.

Janus: Signed up meaning the guy behind the counter had me write down my info while he checked my ID.

wind_comm December 11th, 2011 22:13

same thing happened/is happening to me. it's not easy to get all the way down there from NW calgary (not as bad as airdrie per se) but I wouldn't mind going back to chrono/ogle guns.

erroneousTrigger December 11th, 2011 23:51

Its no easy feat, the city needs a few more main arteries to be sure. At least PM hobbycraft in the NE has started to get into airsoft, though theres no chrono.

LastProvidence December 12th, 2011 00:14

... It's like a 35 minute drive there. I used to drive from Airdrie to Paigan for work every day in the summer. I could make it from Fairways in Airdrie clear to Paigan in 30, faster on a less traffic intense day. Really, you take Deerfoot to Glenmore, and boom. Drive when there's no traffic, and you're fine.

More importantly, why haven't you talked to Ken? He's in Country Hills. Why would you first talk to someone who is 2x the distance?

Ah. There was a situation recently that yours sounded similar to. A person left their info as a message but didn't actually meet the verifier so the AV'ing never happened.

I just wanted to make sure you met the verifier, that's all.

just out of curiosity, is it possible to preemptively put someone on that list? there's a guy in my class that has recently taken interest in airsoft and after having spent a year in his class, I really don't think he should be allowed near airsoft let alone anything actually dangerous.

boypogi71 December 12th, 2011 03:08

Testing... Yap AV..... ! LOL.. Not... Shoot

wobblypop December 12th, 2011 03:48

You'd likely have to present evidence a little more compelling than your opinion. I don't think it is out of the question that such a thing could happen, but it would have to be some seriously irredeemably stupidity involved.

5moke December 12th, 2011 08:23

I'm also waiting for my account to be updated was verified by Toronto Airsoft

ok, I guess I'll have to hope that he does something typical of himself on the forums then.

Might be good for you to notify someone anyways, Just so he's on a short leash so to speak.

erroneousTrigger December 12th, 2011 23:20

Janus: no problem I had thought the same thing

Last providence: I slipped over to IA on a break from a course at the time. As for low volume traffic in Calgary, unless its on my way to work on a Sunday morning Its a pretty rare thing these days.
