Real Russian Optics?

Looking for some information on Russian Optics. I plan on turning my VFC AKs-74n into a Daytona in the future, and know any clone will not last long.

Soo....my question is where can one buy real russian optics? I'm specifically interested in either the Kobra, PKA ,or 4x24 sight. I'm not sure of the price range 100% either, but so far from what I've seen/ been told I'm expecting them to be about $150-250 depending on the sight.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I've got a PKA I may be looking to get rid of if I can find a KOBRA :)

A KOBRA would be nice to have

Amos April 8th, 2011 18:14

I've seen 'em go as high as $500 in Canada though lol

Hah well as tempting as that is depending on the price, I'm more leaning towards a slightly magnified scope since I want to do DMR. :)

I have been interested in purchasing PKAS or the KOBRA? Does anyone have experience with these? If so are they worth it?

Amos April 9th, 2011 02:42

Yea, I got the PKAB

I've looked through both and seen both in real life, a friend is into russian set-ups as well. They are both very nice, sturdy, good visible dot, exactly what you'd expect from a real steel sight.

Debrief April 20th, 2011 16:55

Does anyone know of any overseas Russian dealers for Kobras and PK-As? I'm going to see if one of my friends in Ukraine can set up an order.

Store is in edmonton

Debrief April 20th, 2011 17:21

Yeah, I saw that above from mcguyver. They don't carry Kobras though.

Amos April 20th, 2011 17:27

It's covered, he's got a PK on the way to him :P

Debrief April 20th, 2011 17:49

Yeah, I'm looking into one now from my AK-74. $399 for a sight from Eastwave is super steep when there's some popping up for $150.

I think he only lists on his website what is in-stock. He does get different things in all the time, like CZ mounts.

Reviving this topic.
Was wondering if anyone have any experiences with the following optics:
PK23 red dot

PK01-VS red dot
http://zenphotos.net/file/Online/SVD...01-VS_Left.JPG
PK-A
http://zenphotos.net/file/Online/SVD...161PKALeft.JPG

Which one of those three is better? Anyone know any retailers that sell the PK01-VS red dot?

Off_kilter July 2nd, 2012 12:49

I would love one of those all the optic plus rail mount combos I've tried we're too high up.

Gato July 2nd, 2012 13:05

Farther down the line, my only two planned additions for my 74M are a GP-30 and either a KOBRA or a PK-A :)

MMatersk July 2nd, 2012 13:50

If you guys don't mind me asking what brand of AK is that?

I've got a PK-A sight (As well as it's newer brother PK-AS) Overall it's a super solid red dot, no complaints about it at all, solidly built easy to see in bright light. The only downside to the PK-A series is it's slightly off center to the left which is typical of Russian red dots. Takes a bit of getting used to. There are replacement mounts to make them center bore though if you need. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at all.

Yea, this is exactly the problem I'm running into as I browse kalinka optics.

MMatersk, I think they are SGL31s by aresenal.

Gish, does the PK-A and PK-AS sit high above the receiver? And pm me the link to the retailer please.

Off_kilter July 2nd, 2012 19:07

Post the links here!

...please :)

Russian optics is best optics.

So far I've only collected a couple BelOMO scopes and red dots, but they've always been solid, and I really like the way they cant off to the side a bit. Makes it a bit easier to draw up to target I think, especially when prone!
