Are you guys aware of how many minors in your area actually own airsoft guns and play? In my city, there are A LOT! Most of them use crappy tire guns, but there is the occasional full black AEG. Some kids even use friggin pellet guns!!! That's dangerous.

My backyard faces a huge greenbelt-ish place with a forest and some fields, the 14 or 15 year olds play there sometimes. I'm gonna give them a talking to next time they play.

BobbyDangerous December 17th, 2010 21:49

Man i seen kids with canadian tire special airsoft guns running around the building shooting eachother with them..

ThunderCactus December 17th, 2010 21:53

We've got a minor league that accounts for about 30 kids, but I know there's a ton of kids in winnipeg which crapsoft guns
Even a handful of our old and highly respected airsoft veterans used to play in a forest behind their school during lunch when they were young lol

Styrak December 17th, 2010 22:11

Nope, not really aware of how many.
But I'd say....not many. Full black or full metal guns I'd say close to 0.

Disco_Dante December 17th, 2010 22:16

Canadian tire wouldn't keep stocking shitsoft if it didn't sell.

Strelok December 17th, 2010 22:41

Kidiots, enough said.

kalnaren December 17th, 2010 22:57

Real airsoft? Probably none, based on the amount of "guys what's a good full metal gun that's accurate and has long range I have $100 to spend!" threads we get.

We had a few neighbourhood kids plinking with cantiresoft from house to house up and down the street late last summer. I would find BBs around my front and back yard after work when mowing the lawn, etc., and I got quite pissed off about the whole situation.

Aside from telling them to never, ever fire the gun while my family is outside (or in public in general), they don't seem to understand the possible ramifications. If it starts up again next summer, the parents will hear about it (uncomfortable anyone?) - and then the authorities if it doesn't stop.

The irony is that I have a 7 and 10 year old who both understand what the dangers are, and are genuinely afraid of the damage they can cause without protection. What are the parents of these kids doing? Ridiculous.

I know of a group of kidiots in the little community I live in that actually play in the streets(which changed to "my dad's 30 acres" when I said they could go to jail) with shitsoft. In the town of Creston(10 mins away), there's a group of kids using what I've heard are "expensive" guns. The sad part is, it's the mayor's kid(15 years old) that's bringing these guns in.
I've heard that they're more responsible with their games than the kids in my community though, and have set up a small paintball/airsoft field up against the mountain on the mayor's property.

I've also found out that the local RCMP detatchment in Creston will literally throw confiscated guns in a dumpster behind their station, which has been gone through by a few people.

Had a mother bring in a LCD monitor that her 7 YEAR OLD had shot with a crapsoft gun.

We got talking and she truly believed a bb gun was an appropriate gift for him.

VooDooPeteK December 18th, 2010 01:42

what do you think the kids do with the guns they buy from Walmart or Canadian Tire?

They buy them , or get there parents to buy them but have no place to play so they play in the local woods/parks....

They finally find ASC and find that no games (or not many anyway) allow under 18 so they keep playing but still buy better guns cause they read and see what/where they can...

Just another reason I would rather have a kid on my field then in a public area playing

Where is your locale anyways? We have a few in Ottawa that I know off.

nothing. They can't even gather enough autority to tell them to go to bed.
I know a lot of intelligent parents who completely fail to give any kind of structure to their kids; who in their turn do not respect their parents at all.

in my area kids don't have airsoft, they're all Hassidic jews. They go to school on sundays.

Saberwing December 18th, 2010 09:23

I'm gonna admit, before I was AV'd, there were about 15 or so of us in Halton that would play in one of the forests. It was however private property and the owner gave us permission and also played with us sometimes. There were even some AV'd players that would come play.

True, but did you see the post about the kid's mother that sued an other kid's mother for 7000 bucks because her kid got a tooth chipped off by a BB ? I wouldn't like that happen to me because a mother is pissed even if she signed the ''discharge??''

R.I.T.Z December 18th, 2010 10:29

yes 2

doc_pathfinders December 18th, 2010 10:39

And i remember using a .177 pellet gun as my first 'Scirmish' gun.. (same as all my friends)

tougher times (yes, we wore Eye-Pro) but i expect to hear tales about CDN_Stalker using 22LR :P

at the end of the day if i saw a bunch of a*seholes (regardless of age) pissing around with airsoft i'll call the police, far better they're stopped BEFORE a member of the public gets a BB in the eye. Plus they might learn something.

bshantz December 18th, 2010 13:08

Back in my home town we used to go out to the local dump and shoot pellet guns at each other.....

Then we built our own paintball field and tried to start a business..

Its tough when your a kid and there are no places to play.
When someone tells you not to do something, well you do everything you can to do it.

Problem now is kids in cities who feel they have the same freedoms as town kids.
Couple months ago I saw some kids outside my shop running around with crapsoft guns, they were running threw peoples property as if there were no consequences.

Times are a changing

need_a_name December 18th, 2010 18:05

to tell the truth i am only 14 and have some cheap canadian tire guns ith my friends, however we never play in the city, only in the country at my uncles farm, and we NEVER carry them in public, heck i even saw kids younger then me on my street with cheap shotties rounning arounf freely with no eye-protection. i seriously dont know why the parents of these kids aren't watching them, but its beyond me. my parents would give me shit for pullinga stunt like that.
