Tatics for hilly Enviornemnt

so i will be playing in a very open but hilly map. tehre is next to nothing to hide behind but the natural hills and dips (no dips are so steep they could act as trenches or anything). It will be 3 vs 3. What are some useful tatics for my team to use?

Amos November 7th, 2010 19:30

Stay low, move fast, keep moving.

And wear mouth/face protection. I've seen alot of teeth get shot out from cresting hills.

Thanks!

Or... just always wear a mouth guard when you play, no mater where it is.

Travel from mid hill. Never at the bottom or top. Be aware of your silhouet.

If possible, make an attack from the side of the hill, not from the top.

So if i spot the other team is it best to stay together or split the team? And what should i do if i notice one of them is missing. Last time i pushed it off and we got blind-sided.

FOX_111 November 7th, 2010 20:40

Stick together, always.

1 is none, 2 is one and 3 is not enough.

Cover each other while you manuver. One fire, the others moves. Get closer, get angles and kill them all.

SniperSam November 8th, 2010 14:48

I prefer ambush; flank and force them to get to the top of the hill, pick em off

Farmboy November 8th, 2010 16:46

I know some tactics but no tatics, sorry :(

Never ever split your forces unless it provides a clear tactical advantage. Overwhelming fire superiority is the way win the battle.

With three should i keep all 3 on one side close together or move us a little apart so they can maneouver as much. and like that other guy said we might get a better shot angle from different positions.

You want to keep an interval between each of you. Say about 10ft, this will stop one grenade from hitting all of you, as well as making people actually aim their shots instead of hosing a tright group down.

Own the high ground.

There is a reason why it has been coveted by opposing forces since the dawn of battle.

Would you rather be shooting downhill at exposed enemies or trying to fight your way uphill against an enemy you can't see, but he can see you?

This.

By God I finally agreed with one of mcguyver's posts. What is the world coming to...

Find and read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War". Everything that we are telling you will be in there.

Oh never mind. Disaster averted, this thread isn't in OT. That explains it.

Brayden November 10th, 2010 16:54

No cover? Grab a sniper rifle.

Stay outta the sun it provides over watch for opfor. Keep an Eye on the bunnies they will give you advance warning that someone is coming. The grass is too short for ghuillies so get into one of the caves but be ready for CQB or incoming Tornado 'nades. If you have to move over the crests stay low and for the love of God don't Giggle!

Stealth

We've decided to use a big stealth factor here. Any tips?

Our main plan is just to take the far side of the field and beat them to a pass (a small portion of the field is connected to the rest only by a pass). The pass is fairly wide but forest reduces the field's length considerably so the pass is alot skinnier.

On our side overlooking the path is probably the biggest hill in the field. Me and a team mate will get in sniping positions while the third team mate gets in a nearby trench position and watches over the forest incase they make the decision to go through it (its pretty dense we doubt they'll try it). Either way we have a beautiful overwatch of the map from the forest and pass to around us. It'll be hard to surprise attack us from anywhere.

But in the whole match we agreed on aboslute stealth.

Any tips for stealth or plan improvements or anything?

Assault Pioneer November 12th, 2010 15:36

if you want stealth, don't bother to hold a position, let them take the hill, so they can sit on it in plain view, use force multiplying and long range weaponry to begin harrassing them and picking them off, don't stay in combat for more than 5 seconds. shoot, scoot, short bursts only if you missed don't stick around to try and take the shot again in that time they could pick you or have rounds incoming onto you already, dissapear and come back later to try again once things have relaxed a little, you know where they are so take your time.

essentially try and be like that whack-a-mole game but with guns, pop up, shoot, and dissapear before they can bring the hammer down on you, be passive aggressive do not confront them and try to engage them individually, (if there are two of them together, wait till one is facing another direction or wanders away a little before you open fire)
