Silencerco: 'OSPREY' Style silencers?
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about 'Sparrow' or 'Ospre' style replica silencers coming out any time soon?

AIRSOFT!! lol
|
Yeah.. Asking if any AIRSOFT company is designing these for production.. I'd like to get my hands on one.
|
They look way to beefy to be somewhat useful in airsoft, as normal silencers are. Sure they add the "cool" factor but I doubt it will be useful in a game.
Is this purchase for gaming or for collecting purposes? |
Well. Either way. Depends if it whispers to me it wants to be gamed. Any silencer isnt useful at all in airsoft. They're all used to just look 'tacticool' if you will. I was just wondering if a company had made em yet. Would be a pretty hot product.. and who knows, maybe it will work a tiny bit with it's interior design. It really is ingenious what they've done over there at silencero. So yeah, basically a collectors piece i guess you could say. ;)

I like the style of that suppressor, though, it's nice to see a change from the "How many different finishes / patterns can we put on this round tube" fare. At first I thought it might be able to fit into one of the rigid (SERPA) holsters because of its shape, but I can see that even though it is slimmer, it still seems a bit wider than the nose of the gun. Seems easy enough to slip on, though, the beginning of the video showed a sort of lever locking thing. I don't know if instead of or in addition to threads, I couldn't sit and watch the whole vid :). |
He's asking if there is an airsoft version of this silencer coming out, not wether or not it will actually "silence" or what it's practicality in airsoft is or wether or not you think silencers are cool... fuck you non AV's are just full of apeshit and jump on any opportunity to spread your 1337 geardo knowledge even if it doesn't apply to the current topic. all of you failed to answer the question and just wallowed in smug and threw a little bit at the OP.
just like any cool real steel product that comes out, wether it can be put to practical use in airsoft or not, there is often an airsoft flavour following. That's what he wants to know. And so do I that silencer looks cool, just like all cool silencers wether or not their functional or just for hiding a longer inner barrel, and dont ass ram someone for being wrong because there's an "exception" out there that's just stupid. answer the question... My answer, not that I'm aware of however that silencer looks very nice and I'd buy one as it's a welcome change to the usuall can design, looks very futuristic |

I would expect it's coming. Although thats a smaller company, make take a while. Iw ouldnt mind one. if they arn't to much money that is. And Wedge, To each there own. Just because you think its not cool doesnt mean no one else does. I for one do. So those types of commants are just mean |

No, it doesn't exist.
I do not expect to see a replica anytime soon as this is a relatively small and less known company. |

Two years later, they still don't exist, no?
Or any "square" suppressor/silencer? |
No, I think there are some practical reason for this also. To make sure the clocking on the threaded end to align properly isn't going to be easy with typical airsoft way of just threading the barrel. RS supressor might have dedent or pins to do that. Suppressors on GBB also have the issue of impeding the cycling, where as in RS case they can use a Nelson device to alleviate that. The Osprey one's main benefit I think is that you can use regular sight with the can, without resorting to special supressor sight that sits higher to see over the can.
|
The only GBB I have is a USP Tactical by KWA, and the extra weight at the end just prevent the slide from locking when empty.
It would be for looks mainly, not for use while gaming. I'll have to resort to normal silencers. [ On another note, anyonw knows where to get a chrome/silver silencer in-country? ] |
All it takes is for that to show up in one transformers movie and the replicas will flow. Doing the mechanical catch to keep it oriented with the slide would add some $ vs the typical tube with threads on the end though.
|
They're out now, but only overseas. They came out for about a week stateside than then literally disappeared. My guess is that Silencerco slapped the importers with lawsuits like they forgot to bring them a sammich. Shouldn't effect Canadian imports I wouldn't think though?
|
Well they've gone from round to squarish, the next logical step is to add

At any rate; the MK23 NBB isn't the only gun I have seen a silencer silence, or extremely quiet down. There are many springer rilfes, a bunch of AEGs, and even a few GBBRs that I've seen go either near silent, or very quiet with the addition of a silencer. A teammate of mine had a CA G36, and from twenty feet away, you couldn't hear it whatsoever. I saw another video somewhere on YouTube of a guy testing different silencers on several airsoft guns. At extreme close range they didn't appear to make a difference, but at distance they certainly did. In many cases the sound was lessened by more than half. The thing is, they do add overall length to your gun. So unless you can stay concealed, they won't really help you. John used to shoot a bunch of us with his G36, and we wouldn't even hear it. I have seen the Osprey, or an extremely similar product, at stores in Canada. Airsoft versions I mean. |
I got the tan one with the adaptor kit. Hoping to get a FNX 45, I think it would go better than the mk23.
Kind of want to get a black one now to put on a Kriss Vector... http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...2acbeb1b0e.jpg |
Wow I would like one.. Especially if it's foam filled!
|
Are these able to be imported or no?
|
Not likely, but they are sold here. I believe Trigger Airsoft has them.
|
That's pretty awesome. Just getting back into the sport now and looking over my old posts, found this. Cannot actually believe that they produced it. Thanks for the info BTW there Ricochet, I will definitely be picking one up from trigger then.
