With all the talk of Canadian impressions, I'm curious as to the reliable vendors out there. I was going to do up a loadout 4 years ago, but found that I would have to piece together everything from 10 different shops. Has gear alocation gotten any "easier"?

What campaign are you thinking?

North Africa, Sicily and Italy, Normandy or NW Europe? Infantry or Can Para?

There isn't a one stop shop but it ain't 10 either.

There are a few places that sell a p-37 web set. It will be usable as a WWII Canadian set but you can expect it to be mostly British post war p-37. My Icon shows my kit 1 1/2 year ago. Since then, I have acquired real Canadian WWII (stamped and dated) web gear which I wear (or display) at public functions only. When I game my kit, I wear the not so Canadian web gear.

Bomber

Used but still usable WW2 C Broad Arrow stamped P37 small utility pouches are pretty affordable. Seen them going for $20 to $30 for a pair. Good to hold plenty of items but long stick magazines (e.g Sten magazines) will stick out.

However, plenty of WW2 Canadian soldiers were issued British made P37 webbing and pouches.

Normandy through the Netherlands.

Toronto military show has vender's that sell alot of p-37 webbing i think for a 100$ you could get almost every thing wartime. and korean war era bds are cheap too

This is just a rule of thumb and not the gospel.

3rd Infantry Division landed in Normandy on June 6: MKIII Helmet, "Invasion boots", Canadian Battle Dress and 37 webbing.

2nd Infantry Division IIRC were in France by early July 1944:MKII helmet, Canadian Battle Dress, ammo boots and P37 webbing. Pretty sure 2nd division kit (webbing, helmet, boots and battle dress) can be done in two online purchases for around $500. Not the cheapest but it does save time.

Online shopping, if no other alternatives (e.g. local). Just an example of getting most of the kit in 4 online stores or less.

Spearhead militaria store on ebayhttp://stores.ebay.ca/Spearhead-Mili...id=p4340.l2563 has the more green than brown khaki Canadian battle dress tunic and trousers. onlinemilitaria.net (aka what price glory) sells the webbing, mkII helmet and ammo boots. civilwarboots.com sells invasion boots for a healthy sum. Real MKIII helmets can be had for ~$25 to ~$250 (I paid $140 for my MKIII locally but I have seen affordable MKII and MKIII helmets on ebay, worldwarwonders.com and www.germanmilitaria.com).

Last week I finished my British Reconnaissance Corps impression ( got a pair of 1943 binos, sorry no armoured car or jeep)

I like this impression for a few reasons. I prefer the british kit and it is fairly ubiquitous as they were attached to British infantry, armoured and airborne units. They were also attached to the US 101st for a bit during Market Garden. So your not completely out of place if side by side with Easy Co. Re-enactors. I shall pics when I get a chance.

The one problem with it is that in low light it could be mistaken for German. LOL

Come out to the Living History events and you can ride in Rob's jeep.

We have a FSSF living history group here in Edmonton, and our unit members also play alot of the WWII airsoft games here. Group looks sharp. Being a member, I will second all the other suggestions to go FSSF. ;)

I've had the FSSF loadout for quite a few years. Boot and I put the WWII thing on the back burner for a few years while doing Soviet/Modern Russian. Now I've gone back to the FSSF kit. I've missed it.

It's how we classify events,

Level three, anyone may come, no impression required,

Level two, impression attempt required

Level one, full impression required
