Thanks:) i just ordered it. 0.375 should work. I will get back with the result.
|
I finally received my Cam870! I got the pistol grip model with 14" barrel.
I removed the orange tip last night, and under the orange tip is a treaded muzzle. The 14" barrel is threaded. I also measured the barrel and the total length when removed is 14" but if you mearure the barrel length from the breach while installed its only about 13.5" Not sure what furniture im going to us on my gun, its needs new furniture though for sure! I started to modify a beneli type stock from a double eagle airsoft but looks like the stock is a little big where it meets the receiver, can probably get it to work but it wont be flush with receiver so doubt ill use it. Since the barrel has the thread im thinking I will have to add the 2" breach, and a +1 extension tube .... anyone know for sure if the extension tube will be flush length wise with the 2" breacher? I dont want to have my mag tube sticking out past the barrel or breacher. Also if I use the +1 will I need a new mag tube spring? Oh, also ... my mag tube holds 5 shells, not 4 as specified? I havent shot my cam870 yet but have cycled it and have got jams quit a bit just from cycling it, I got jams loading 1 into the chamber and 4 into the tube as well as when I loaded 1 into the chamber and 5 into the tube. I will post some pics when I et a chance. |
Has anyone tried the competition trigger group? Is it all steel, or does it just have the Titanium nitride coated, stainless steel parts installed.
|
I didn't tried it, but the stock trigger group is all steel.
|
Can someone tell me exactly how much length the 2" breacher will add to barrel length when installed?? ... and exactly how much length the +1 mag extension will add to the mag tube when installed??
Trying to figure out how my 14" barreled Cam870 would look with the 2" breacher and +1 mag extension installed. My Cam870 14" barrel came threaded, and the gun is also a 5 + 1 shot. |

No ...
2" breacher on 14" barrel I doubt is going to be 16" due to the threads ... trying to figure out exactly how much added length the 2" breacher would actually add to the barrel (any barrel) Also needing to know how much length the +1 mag extension will add ... I dont want to buy the 2" breacher and the +1 mag extension to find out after install that the +1 mag extension sticks out past the 2" breacher on my 14" barrel |
Check post #104 see if you have your answer.
|
N_Force I saw post #104 and by that post I can see that its very close but I wasnt sure since you were unable to screw the 2" breacher on to your 14" barrel.
I was hoping you could check it out a little closer or check measurments |
This is breaches barrel and end cap. Would it help?

Hi I joined this forum specifically to thank everyone for their contribution to this gun especially N-Force you have provided the most useful and in depth knowledge thank you sir!
I have bought myself a CAM870SF but looking at everyone else's mine strangely has a threaded front barrel as standard? Also my shell tube can fit 5 + 1 in the chamber, this is standard also. Has APS released a second update to the SF perhaps? I also bought an RS Remington for cheap but as N-Force has mentioned about the CAM879 pins being the same size and the RS being different sizes, have you any suggestions how I can attach this? Seeing as the threads on the scope mount are bigger than the pin holes on the receiver I can't think of anything other than buy another mount? Anyway here's a pic of my shotgun (official Magpul parts) https://www.dropbox.com/s/cqggyfy1pq...%20am.jpg?dl=0 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...soil9do4l.jpeg Edit: err why is the attachment such crap quality?? |
Hey J888, the Remington scope mount, are both pin holes line up? If yes, you may just get the aps scope mount pins, check the link below:
http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php..._115&limit=100 This is all you need for RS parts that mount on two pins. http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php...product_id=496 Quote:

Hi
I have the CAM870 T with the Gen 2 Bolt and I believe I'm experiencing light striking . 1 in every 12 shots I get a situation where the shell pin is not hit hard enough to set off the shell. Has anyone else experienced this ? |
How do you know it's light striking? Does it mean that every 12 pump and fire, then you have one weak strike by feeling? And it didn't fire? Or partial fired?
How old is your 870? How many pump you shot through it? When did you notice it happened? From day one or after a while ? There are some points you could check based on your issue: (If you're able to handle it) 1, remove the trigger assembly and take a look the hammer see any worn out at the point that strike the push pin. 2, take a look at the end of the push pin that strike by the hammer, most likely is deform or flat already, right? 3, take a look at the front end of the push pin see if it is deformed like a mushroom, if so, file or sand the edge to make it smaller prevent not strike into the shell release gas pin. 4, last is check all the shells, at the end of the release gas pin see if they are deformed or worn out? Have fun! |
@dreadlock yeah I get that problems at times with mine too! My 870 pretty new, probably less than 200 racks, gamed it once and had some shells not going off, and cant eject the shell out unless I press the lever down. Sometimes the shell would go off when I rack it out lol. Need to check internals and see whats going on ;-;

Like I mentioned in other thread while ago, I'm not a gun doc but would like to share what I've learned from all the gas shotguns I have, particularly on APS & PPS both shotguns, so I'll have a 'Shotgun Workshop' in Action Air Canada in Mississauga Ontario soon, possible will be next month in June, if you are in Toronto area and would like to attend, even in the future, planning to have 'gas gun workshop' too. Stay tuned!
|
Cav, your aow is a bit difficult since it was disassembled For shipping, when I did assemble it back, I'd found that some of the parts are not really good. I told you I didn't have spare parts for back up so I didn't do too far and also I was busy with AAC at the same time. If you could come to the shotgun workshop, that would be good see what we could do. Even I'll try to get connection to import some APS parts that got problems the most for anyone need them t replace and fix.
|
Sounds good N_Force :) I will await your workshop! Dont worry, I know the ejector arms are no good, dont worry! Trying to get extra set so maybe can modify a bit more :)
|
Thanks gents for the speedy responses.
The 870 is 2 months old and fired 300 shells max. Push pin is neither mushroomed on shell end or on hammer end ( although there are strike marks). The light striking ( cant think of a better term ) If the shell doesnt go off when struck if i reload it into the tube re rack the same shell the second strike sets it off. The gun has done it from new so i dont believe it is caused by wear. I have 38 shells and it isnt the same shells it appears to be random. And none of the shells are that worn. I fully stripped the mech and checked full trigger assembly and can't find any excessive wear. I have removed the pushrod sheild to see if it was added friction ect and repoved the vast amount of grease it was shipped with. Bit stumped if im honest. Thanks Dreadlock (PS I'm from the uk and the 870 is rare here so though id head over here ) |
Next issue I'd found year ago from mine 870, and recently from Cav's new aow, is that after you racked and loaded shell in chamber, the pump would be locked by pump lock, but it still remain 2-3mm space to be moved back and forth, that could be the reason, even when it's new.
Check yours after pumped and locked, lightly move the forend back and forth to see how much spacing it has, keep an eye on the bolt front you'll see. If so, that mostly is the problem. That means when you pull trigger, you have to keep the forend push forward and minimize the spacing that could block the hammer striking the push pin. Cav you have the same issue that I told you if you remember It? Try it see, hope that is it! |
Thankyou I will check it out tonight.
Here is a vid it it working in action and right at the end shooting a mate with a shell loaded with a de-stoned olive. https://youtu.be/UwosYaZaGE0 Dreadlock |
Yea I still have the same issues, but I never thought that it could be the bit of spacing when you rack it forward. I will have to see! That does make sense though. Wonder if there is anyway to modify it so it doesnt have that 2-3mm of play.
|
The easy way to have a quick fix is file the bottom end of the bolt in narrow angle possible 15/20 degree, way up to the bottom of push pin, this spacing could allow the hammer strike straight on the end of push pin without being forend pull back that 2-3mm to block or disturb the hammer strike.
BUT, the trade off could be reduce the power of the shot out since the shell could have been pull back 2mm and when the wad past through the edge and slow it down. |
Removing the push rod shield appears to have stopped the light strike issue.
On to my next question can anyone tell me which tube extension marries up with barrel lengths to give a similar length. For example 20" barrel with 7.5 "extension. 24" barrel with 11" extension. I have the Tactical and I'm looking to fit a longer barrel and tube set http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1tremq5u.jpg |
Hey guys, I recently picked up a heavily used stack 870. Only things I have done has gotting it a pistol grip and a shorten it to a 4 round + 1 tube due to limited shells at moment.
The first week of plinking it to try custom wading (which works) went fine. Now I am stuck with a nearly dead 870. Issues: - Shells after half loading when pumped - Shells jamming requiring multiple pumps to load - Earlier it suffer the loose pump/bolt where you needed to pump hard as hell forward to work - Now it will not let me fire the hammer with a shell loaded. Without a shell it works but with loaded shell it is dead. I am a few hundred dollars in the hole if I cant' get this running. |

Nice done, Eddy! Get ready for two gun, pistol and shotgun! See you one day in aac!

Does the fore-grip wobble a bit on everyone elses and is there a way to make it more solid? O-rings? The bolt stop appears to be a weak point in the design with two little screws holding it in there, even though its counter sunk into the frame to take some of the force off the screws I feel as though they will eventually snap. Overall impressed with the build quality on the SAI version. Looks like the only thing that may need to upgrade first is the bolt, which is not made of steel like the aftermarket version.

Hi,
I just received my sf and want to remove the 14 inch barrel to put on a magpul forend. I cannot seem to get the barrel off the receiver. Can anyone help? How do I get the barrel off? Thx Update....my barrel was just stuck and with a lot of work I was able to remove it. I now have installed original magpul buttstock and forend. It looks awesome!! Thx |
Shell Charger leaking
Hey Had a question.
Dont know if anyone still talks on here but I just got the aps cam870 shell ejecting shotgun and was looking forward to shooting it be the co2 charger would always leak through this small hole under the nob you use to refill the shells with gas. I could not figure out for the life of me what was lose for I tightened everything as much as it could go. The only thing that did not seem to tighten all the way down was the part thats supposed to pierce the bottom co2 but I don't think that would cause a leak up there. Hope someone can help and thanks |
Hi,
For anyone still not knowing which forearm with light fits the CAM 870 I can assure you that the G&P forearm for Marui (GP-MSP005) fits quite well without much modding to do. All I needed to do was to apply few layers of duct tape to the craddle on the CAM870. Craddle of CAM870 has smaller outside diameter than the inside hole in the forearm for Marui. Next I needed to put a spacer between the forearm front and the nut that is screwed on the front of the craddle - this is because the forearm for marui is a litlle bit shorter (about 4 mm) - I used zip tie as a spacer and it works well. Next I needed to file down a little of the forearm metal in the middle of the forearm because it was comming in contact with the barrel near the reciever. As a result I needed to use much force to push te forearm forward. If someone is interested I can upload some pictures Also I've seen that the APS has released a new type of shells - they are called Smart Cartridge. Anyone got thier hands on them ? |
Hey guys,
Are there any side saddles that will work without any modifications that will fit both the shells and onto the gun? If not, are there certain saddles you’d recommend? Thanks! |
only aps one
main problem is the two receiver pins Quote:
|
I ended up just ordering a velcro style saddle. Just seemed easier.

Any news on when the new mk3’s will be available in Canada?

https://www.vainnovation.ca/product-category/shotgun/ the xpower shells may be arrived end of this month or next. also be aware of the new xpower needs to use with new short wads, keep an eye on apsram.com for more infos. i believe it's sold out too. here is my review for xpower shells: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...61915840719205 |
Thanks, I found viper already sold out. Hoping more retailers will be bringing some in as well.
|
Using the MK2 with wood finish here. Shells are less expensive and doesnt require oring mainteneance every now and then.
Thing doesnt shoot far but in CQB its fun as hell. it doesnt hurt as it only shoot 12bbs a bit bellow 300fps but the PoP of the shot scares the crap out of people :D Shell catcher is usefull as hell too. Friend is looking for a MKII (short, Breacher style) but it is no where to be found lately... |
Dont get mk2, u can only get 10-12 shots off one fill which isnt enough for a cqb game.
I currently got 2 mk3 police model available, pm me if interested |
I own the MKII, Friend wants the small 3-4 shell breacher.
I want to get the MKIII bolt for mine later on but holding it off for now as the shells are expensive as hell and I have 27 MKII shells. Also the turn off for me is the oring maintenance on each shells on the mkI and mkIII. I don't use the shotgun enough for that. I do want the increased FPS of the MKIII though. I still get 18-20 shots out of my MKII though! |
i don't think you are able for power increase, unless switch to hpa. but there is a chance to make it better seal and maintain the full power performance.
follow the link below, check the post J and see if it will help you. cus I've found that between the bolt and shell end cap is the weakest point to leak, almost 20% of power leak from here and seal an oring at the end of shell endcap helps that i tried. https://www.facebook.com/16619158407...0475104863275/ /B] Quote:

The power increase I was thinking about tho would be from switching my MKII bolt to the MKIII wich does not contain the co2, and using the shells that stores the co2 themselves. Basicly Turning my MKII(if its in the latest models of the mkII wich i have yet to check) into MKIII. |
the new xpower shells are about 400 fps with 0.2s which is about 60fps increase from the original mk1s, from what i understand, to go from MK2 to MK3, you may have to change more than the bolt to do that since the carrying arm is also a little bit different.

Online Question
Has anyone in canada ordered directly from aps-concept.com one of the CAM870 MKIII shell ejecting shotguns, I only found one canadian site andysairsoft.ca but they sell them for about double the price and they are saying its pre-orders only and can take like 2 months to come in. I am curious if anyones ordered directly from APS for the shotguns as well as the shell ejecting sniper rifles.
