Oh dear, now where, comrades, are my manners!

I had an order come a while back, and another is already on the way! This order contained very rare winter suit. However, next order will contain the true treasures of the Soviet army! ;) ;)

Just because Russian Special Forces don't wear that "commercial stuff" or "Nato Crap" doesn't mean anyone watching the film is really going to care. I used the spetsnaz as an example and a general term, because i've only ever seen regular infantry in OD suits, never any camo (they were all old photos)

The uniform you posted is pretty much US woodland. IF you're on a movie budget, and don't really care for accuarcy, use a US woodland BDU. Will be cheaper. Slap any random Russian unit patch on there, wear a balaclava and you're good to go.

Why would you waste money on Russian boots though?

They seemed about as Expensive as work boots, so I just threw them in. Could just run to Marks Work Warehouse and pick up a pair there too I guess. Just, a soldier of any army wearing runners wouldn't be too good looking :p

If I could find a full Tigerstripe uniform, I woulda gone for that, but then again, doesn't look much like the Brush in the forrests round here. That was another factor in choosing the pattern I did. I'll take a look for the US BDUs. Thanks :)

To the guy above me - That fur looks damn comfortable! :O

Sorry mate, but this is fake... I don't know what is that...definately it has nothing common with soviet winter uniform ever..

Demichev December 12th, 2009 10:35

HET!

Set is real! This is 'Arktika' set. It is like standard winter mabuta except this blue/grey shade was designed for European operations.

Factory stamps prove jacket is from 1977, but I cannot read what fur factory, izvinyi.

Photos of it's use in Soviet times are very hard to find, I have only a couple photos of its use in Chechnya, I will provide:

it looks like something for exploration geologists or for builders in Siberia :-)

Demichev December 13th, 2009 01:56

A set like this would definently have been used in those situations too! =)

By the way, in a couple more days I will be posting another special winter set!!

Flipped the image (thats why "77" looks fucked up).

So, who else on here has a rex-design vest? Do you shove a petite water bladder in the buttpack,
or do you try and jam water bottles in both pouches on either side of it?

BootYourFace December 28th, 2009 20:44

I have a rex, but its a 6sh92, and I also have no idea of what you speak up? water bottles in pouches?

Conscript December 28th, 2009 20:58

BYF, 6Sh-92 is not Rex Design, it's made by the Russian MOD for the Russian Armed Forces, 'army issue' if you'd like. Rex Design only makes one type of vest, which is almost a copy of the ANA V-95, I have one in blue kamysh.

redmond, the back pockets are for spare items and/or mags, if you have a group of people with the same vest in a squad, you can put spare mags in the two smaller back pouches for others to grab off you. The big back pouch I really don't know what its for, I guess you can throw anything you want in there.

BootYourFace December 28th, 2009 21:38

You are correct. Lol. Not sure what I was thinking.

That's what i figured. I managed to squeeze two 74 mags in the smaller pouches, and 1 canteen in the bigger pouch.
W/e, i'm pretty sure i'll be able to find some type of water bottle that will fit in the smaller pouches.

Thanks for the info.

I'll post up some pics once i have the rest of the gear.
