Except green gas smells better :P Most of the time at least, I've heard of scented propane... I think green gas has some silicon in it, aswell propane will hit a little bit harder.

If you get the Airsoft Innovations Gungas kit, it comes with a bottle of silicone oil to add to the tank.

If you're going to use your TM 1911 with propane or plan on installing a metal kit on it I recommend you purchase this:

Other than that it'll work fine, nice and solid ...but if you want to pimp it out with sex you should add to the clutter in ILLusion's private messages in his inbox mwahahha.

The Airsoft Surgeon loading nozzle is also a good suggestion.

The stock loading nozzles tend to split when using with propane.

I have no airsoft specialty stores near me, is there another way to get duster, should i decide to go with that?

Why not just use propane?

I'd like to start on duster seeing as i cant afford to get a metal body kit right now. I know i will end up on propane, but i want to start low first.

Like we've already said, you don't need a metal body kit to use propane.

The price of tetrafluoroethane duster is so expensive, that the difference in price between 8 cans of propane versus tetrafluoroethane duster is roughly the price of a replacement slide. In Ontario, Canada, a can of propane is about $4. A can of tetrafluoroethane HFC134a duster is roughly $12. A replacement slide up here is about $60. It's an $8 difference between cans. To add to that point, one can of duster has LESS volume than one can of propane, so you really are saving much more money with propane. I'd say 5 cans of propane are all you need to get through, and you've already made up the cost of a replacement slide, assuming your stock one will ever break.

The stock plastic slide is strong enough to easily last through 8+ bottles of propane.

But if you MUST stick with duster, just go to your local areas to look for duster that specifically uses TETRAFLUOROETHANE. If it says "difluoroethane", then DO NOT GET IT.

Looking for a specific brand is a moot point, because it depends on what the stores in your area are willing to supply.

Also, the last time I checked, MOST stores in the United States have stopped carrying tetrafluoroethane duster, because some stupid kids were huffing the stuff to get high and ended up dying. You can only find difluoroethane at most big box stores, which ISN'T what you want.

Your best bet for finding tetrafluoroethane would probably be at some small mom & pop specialty shop somewhere. If you can even find it at all, you would be lucky to get it, regardless of the brand, so I wouldn't concern yourself too much with brand.

thanks for all your help. My pistol showed up today with the propane adapter. It's by far the best gun I've ever seen. they were out of the airsoft inovations propane adapter, so i had to get another. I will probably pick up the AI over the summer when I'm working.
