Wrong. So wrong. You are only allowed to possess an airsoft gun that you owned prior to December 1st, 1998. Otherwise, you have no right to it and the feds can show up and take it at any time.

I wonder how many people can prove they owned their guns prior to that? I know I can prove 2 of mine, but not the other 6 (all made after that time).

I've always wondered, if you were a legal owner of a replica before 1998, aren't other replicas you posses protected under a grandfather clause like 12(x) items?

Probably not, Replicas dont follow the same rules as firearms.

Sometimes I wish they did... Those laws are fairly clear and the paperwork is in place to ensure; proper ownership, places where they can be used, who can use them, AND legal age.
