the window alarm has been done, and in fact, still is, by the SnowDragons. we use them as a perimiter alarm, using a tripwire method.

Ya I pickek up 4 of those like a week ago and they work great.

I think the first time I did this was about 15 years ago. It's still a great idea, but you should substitute the picture wire with 40lb test fishing wire, or even better heavy nylon sewing thread in OD. Adding velcro straps on the back of the device allows for quick attachment to trees, sign posts, etc.
I have a case of these things. The intention was to deploy them at larger events, but we never got around to using them. We also have plenty of pyro effects, devices that are set to explode (usually) a safe distance from anyone, but are still audible and quite visible. For our night games, we frequently launch hundreds of air bursts, para-flares etc. Pyro is something that's great if done well, but dangerous if done poorly. It has it's uses, as anyone who's ever been to a Muskoka game will tell you. |

Go Wolfpack! OH wait I mean Gooooo Snowdragons!!! ;) I loved the tripwires we set up at dragon ops, very satisfieing hearing a loud beep beep and someone cursing like mad. The BB claymores are awesome too, I gotta get me a couple. |
Ah yes, that was quite the evening. All the more exciting when we pulled the plug on the generator for about 15 seconds, waited for both sides to rush the bridge, and then plugged it back in again.

in the dark, squeeky lizards and rubber ducks work as proximity alarms too. plus, they're a whole lot cuter and are bathtub safe.
