Like it or not, Christmas is a religious holiday. If you choose to celebrate it on a secular basis, by all means, but don't try and co-opt it and make it into something it is not. I wish everyone 'Merry Christmas'. Religion ruins Christmas the same way barley hops and malt ruin beer. Christmas is ruined by those abominations called 'Christmas fruitcake'.

Now, how about a bacon sleigh?

I hope everyone had a great religion filled Christmas. :)

WRONG!
Fruit Cake is yummy, just don't eat too much or you will get sick of it.

Nothing wrong with calling it whatever as long as you don't away people rights to say whatever they want.

Happy getting holiday pay time :)

Goodwill to all men.

Christmas is a national holiday, and is a big part of our country. Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birthday hence "Christ - Mas". These things exist wether you like them or not, or wether you celebrate them or not. Celebrate it however you like, as long as you don't forget the meaning. I am not a Christian, but support the "extremely important" foundations on which my country was built. No one has the right to take that away from Canada.

May your deitys or god(s) smile on you all year round. Enjoy your families and friends to the fullest always; and most importantly "always" honor those that have sacrificed to get us to where we are. If we forget our direction, our soldiers, or what makes this country great, then we are truly lost.

I wish peace, love, and happiness to everyone.

Thanks ASC for a great year; here's to many more.

I believe in a Superior Noodle. For me it ain't religious, it's just an excuse to have a good meal (which preferably contains pasta) with family and drink some maple whisky. But I still call it Christmas, because it still has religious origins whether I celebrate this part of it or not ;)

"Have a shitty Christmas and I hope you burn in Hell"

To the rest of us, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas ..... 0.25 and 0.28 grams at a time.

How very pre-emptive of you.

Atheists are among the smallest of minorities who have preached "Happy Holidays", save it for the Jewish, the Muslims, etc. . . Furthermore, save the negativity to yourself.

jesus was added to december pagan religious holidays to make theirere conversion easier by allowing them to use the same rituals but changing the meaning. this time of year was about celebrating thor and odin before it was about celebrating christ's birthday which most scholars believe wouldn't have been in december any way.

saying happy holidays is just an attempt to include people of other backgrounds besides christians in the december holiday spirit, not an attempt to prevent christians from having a merry christmas.

besides stores have been trying to co opt christmas and change the current meaning for decades, and they are winning in that regard, even most religous people spent more time looking for a wii u or a new tv than thinking about jesus and how they would get to midnight mass
