not meaning to hijack the thread but does anyone also have issues removing the outer barrel from the KA m4? My gun doc wasn't able to remove the delta ring nut from the receiver. It was so tight that it broke his wrench. I thought I was just a total weakling when I tried it. anyone have any ideas on how to remove the delta ring?

Haven't tried removin mine (yet) but I couldn't even remove the flash hider :/ vise-grips and all
Looks like they either glued/soldered it or it's pressure fit or something |
do you have the metal one or the plastic orange one? if it's the plastic orange one, I basically took an X-acto knife and heated the blade with a butane lighter (blue jet flame) until the blade was glowing orange and cut parallel to the barrel. I along the flash hider 3 times and put a butter knife through the holes and just wrenched the hider. it snaps apart and falls right off. then you just take the x-acto and clean up the threads a tiny bit.
But if you have the metal one... heat. heat the hider to the point that it expands larger than the thread. it might take a lot of heat to do it. also watch for that tiny little hex screw that is keeping it on the threads. |

Concerning the plastic flashhider, I heated mine and it twist right off with pliers.
I've installed the Madbull Black Python and it made quite a difference in terms of accuracy and grouping. It's still the stock KA hop-unit and rubber. Might make it even better if I change those 2 parts also, just not sure what to get. Would any of you recommend these internals? http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1103 If not please let me know what you recommend in terms of internal upgrades. A few of you mentioned to replace the stock motor with a better one but will that cause any issues with the stock gears? |
I just removed my delta ring and Flashhider with a set of channel locks. Friend of mine has my armorers wrench, so that was my only option. Just make sure to take the grub screw out of the Flashhider or say goodbye to the theads. You'll wreck both parts so if you need them, get an armorers wrench.

Hey Dutch, I've got an Armorers wrench and still can't get my Delta ring to budge.. And yes I did remove the front sight and gas tube first. ;)
Is there loctite on there or am I just not pushing hard enough? Don't want to break the upper.. |
^I required wrench + Mallot to get mine off a G&P

Well I got it off, Ron must have had it off to do the spring swap so I'm surprised it was that tough.. But a knee a chair(makeshift vice) and alot of leverage and it came free..

Sorry for necro =)
I'm looking to upgrade my internals on my KA M4A1. I would like to buy lonex. Will the Lonex spring guide work in the M4. Mine has a nut in the stock spring guide to put the buffer tube in place. Any one know if there is a place to put that nut in the lonex one? |
I purchased the following Spring and Spring-guide for my KA M4 and they worked great. I chrono just 380-390 which is perfect for most fields.

You were able to put the nut in the spring guide and screw you buffer in without problem?
|
I am not sure which nut you are reffering to, but yes I was able to screw the buffer tube in just fine.
Gun has been running great since the install. Thousands of rounds fired through it. |
