Can you post some pic's?;) I'm on my 4th design to adapt the Sordins to the rails.
Need some new ideas.

You could also try these...

They have the same mechanism and wire bend as the ARC kits, just a different mount for construction helmets.

I have seen people with these mounts modded on Ops-Core helmets (youtube).

I am using the Peltor 3M mechanism from a hardhat setup but had to make an adapter to be able to fasten the Sordins to it. (our team run with Sordins) Then I made the bracket that slides and locks into the rail. But am still looking for better ideas or designs.

In the Youtube there,at 4:31 looks like you can see the bolt that attaches the mechanism in a static position.

Thanks for the info @ technosnob

If I was a betting man I would guess that he has taken the hardhat setup dremmeled the e'ff out of it and replaced the screw with a thin bolt and attached it directly to the rail itself. Lol

You do see it @ 4:31!!!

NVC November 24th, 2011 12:21

Yeah 4:36 you can see the side view and see the thin screw that he use's to attach to the rails.

I think I would just rather purchase the actual 3M adapter than mguiver my own..

At the expense of epic necro-posting: other than ebay, is there any good place to score a Comtac II/III?

There was one posted up on the classifieds just yesterday.
