For an M4 currently on the market, I would take a KJ any day over a WE.. However that may change one the WE open bolts come out.

I highly doubt there will be many changes,
base on Taiwanese player's examination of the M16A1 (open chamber) which was release 2 day s ago the gun is pretty much like G36.
Its best to replace the firing pin, valve locker, hopup nub.

To be honest, the only problemanic WE Open Chamber is M14, which I'm not surprise, high recoil = high wear

Cradle Airsoft is working right now on STANAG prototypes for the KJW, so there will be two kinds of mags available for the KJW. Personnally, I don't mind if there is no upgrade parts available for the KJW as it just doesn't need some. A cradle velocity reducer and piston kit and you're ready to go. Cradle will also release a bolt carrier anytime in the summer aside from the mags.

I've had 3 WE M4 variants in the past 2 years, not had a single problem with any of them out of the box. My second one I put 4,000 rounds + through it in a weekend at the cottage with some buddies and didn't have any issues.

Right now I have a WE CQBR and the only issue with that is Co2 mags don't seem as reliable as my old GG ones. Other than that I've had zero complaints about the WE system.

Getting parts was easy as hell, and there's plenty of WE related items that come up in the classifieds.

Yes, I think I am gonna go with the WE M4 CQB. Everything I have read about it says its a good platform to go with. I seriously considered the KJW M4, I even tried one out and loved it, but with mags costing around $30 more than the WE mags, and the fact that the thermold mags just wont fit in my vest, I figure the WE is the way to go. Any advice on things to watch out for with these guns?

Also, does anyone know exactly when the open bolt models are coming out? It seems to me, from what I have been told by alot of different people, that the open bolt design is much better than the closed bolt.

I was told that Velocity was getting them quite some time ago but they still don't seem to have any up on their site (not sure I'm allowed to mention websites here so if not then just let me know and I will remove the reference).

TSC made a metal hinge plate for SCARs if anyone did notice. It's co2 ready..

I sure hope it's an improvement over the plate the SCAR comes with... SCAR would be a definite option for me if I hadn't heard so many horror stories about it's reliability running C02. Are there any reviews around about this plate?

I'm pretty sure you're secured with that metal hingeplate running on co2. Just the bolt and internals will wear out quicker, that's all.

Yes, I heard you have to lube your guns alot more if you run C02 because it dries out your rings and so on, is that true?

I'm also wondering if the OB kits are available in Canada yet? I may not be able to hold myself back to wait for the OB rifles to be in stock here lol... I can wait for my AV to go through, should be any day now I hope, if I have to to get one on the classifieds here, so it's no big deal to wait really.

Open bolt is available for SCARS and PDWs.

Just make sure any pins/screws that aren't meant to come out are lock-tited in place. I noticed on full auto with Co2 the pin holding my bolt release in place was literally vibrating out of its hole...

I'm checking it over now to see what else I've shaken out of her but in general, check em and address it before you shoot. I spent 15 minutes on the floor trying to find the little pin....
