Moving Forward

This past weekend I had a meeting with the land owners involved and received approval to proceed with the planning of this event using their land.

Upon review of the seasonal variations on the property it was decided that a FALL date would be much preferred to limit the amount of wetland and to reduce the difficulty associated with insects.

In total the area exceeds 140 acres of woodland and open scrub land.

The woodland has many trails including an old roadbed suitable for vehicle travel.

In addition the woodland has already dug in a trench system with reinforced trenches. More will be done and additional features added in the next year.

The facility has already installed outhouse facilities, and has also an on site shower. In addition there are several structures in the open field area planned for the general camp to assure protection for inclement weather if required.

In all it is an excellent facility and will serve us well.

So this project will proceed with a new date being FALL of 2013 Tentative date September 20 , 21, 22

We should probably rent a bus, and have a uHaul trailer for our gear :P

You guys from Quebec could drive down to Mtl to grab the rest of us :D

The guys coming from London will be traveling further than that. About 100 km more. :)

Date has been posted, Scenario outline posted

now we start to organize our units

we can still use this thread for planning.. so that we don't clutter the game thread too much

What I would like to see is Lead organizers from each region start to work on figuring out how many of what faction may be able to come.

Clearly all these numbers are speculative at this point , but we have to start somewhere.

There is a good chance that I will be able to arrange a field kitchen for this event.

so fresh rations may be included in the game fee.. details will firm up as time goes on

Just curious as to what medic rules will be used. Should we stick with the standard bleed out rules for simplicity? In Ontario we have used wound cards that you read after getting hit that describe various wounds (everything from "tis but a flesh wound" to "head blown off") and people seem to like them. They need some work but there it a lot of time.

Is the position of axis Liaison still vacant?
